Forecast review guide

Keep every forecast decision tied to its version.

Fractional CFOs can use Steadmark to capture review outcomes, carry requested changes into a draft, and return to the decision history for each forecast version.

A version-by-version workflow

Four steps for a clear review trail.

  1. STEP 01

Start with the version under review

Open the forecast version you intend to review. Steadmark records each review action against that version, keeping the decision connected to the forecast the reviewer considered.

  2. STEP 02

    Record one of three outcomes

Approve the version, request changes, or reject it. A request for changes must include a reviewer comment; comments are optional for approvals and rejections.

  3. STEP 03

Carry requested changes into a draft

When a reviewer requests changes, Steadmark creates a draft revision from the reviewed version and carries the reviewer note into that draft. The original decision remains in the version’s history while the editor works through the feedback.

  4. STEP 04

    Revisit the decision history

Open approval history for the version to review the recorded action, who took it, when it happened, and any comment saved with it.

An approval records a reviewer’s decision on a particular forecast version. It does not certify the forecast’s accuracy or guarantee a business outcome.
